The story of sister Aisha is below.

Aisha was just a little girl when she first dreamed of memorizing the Qur’an. Her heart longed to hold every word close. She wanted to become one of those people of the Qur’an who would be raised with light on the Day of Judgment. But she didn’t get the support she needed. Her dream slipped quietly into the background.

Life went on. She grew up. Marriage came. Children came. With them came responsibilities that never seemed to end. There were nappies, school runs, sleepless nights and endless to-do lists. Aisha told herself that one day she would return to her dream. She kept saying, “I’ll start when the children are older. I’ll begin once my house is in order. I’ll wait until I have more time.”

But deep down she was waiting for perfection. And perfection never came. The years kept passing and her heart kept aching with the unfulfilled longing of the child within her.

One day, she came across a hadith that stopped her in her tracks. The Prophet ﷺ said, “Whoever is engaged in reciting the Qur’an and busy himself with it, Allah will give him more than what He gives to those who ask of Him” (Tirmidhi). The words pierced her heart. She realized she was chasing dunya and waiting for dunya to be perfect before she turned to Qur’an. Yet Allah had already promised that if she busied herself with His Book, He would give her everything she needed.

Tears rolled down her cheeks. She whispered to herself, “It is now or never.” No matter how busy life was. No matter how tired she felt. She would place Qur’an first.

So she began. Not with the whole Qur’an. Not with the impossible. But with the beginning. With Surah Al-Baqarah. She remembered the words of the Prophet ﷺ, “Recite Surah Al-Baqarah, for taking recourse to it is a blessing, abandoning it is a cause of grief, and the magicians cannot confront it” (Muslim). Her heart trembled as she recited the first ayah. A peace she had never known washed over her. She knew she had stepped into a door of miracles.

And slowly, she began to notice the miracles unfold. Her heart felt lighter. Her home felt calmer. Her children felt more connected to her. Her duas felt answered in ways she could not explain. She realized the Qur’an was never something to fit around her dunya life. It was the very thing that brought barakah into her dunya life.

Every ayah she memorized became a treasure in her heart. Every verse was like light filling the dark corners of her soul. And she finally felt she was living her dream.

Allah says in the Qur’an, “And We have certainly made the Qur’an easy for remembrance, so is there any who will remember?” (Surah Al-Qamar 54:17). This ayah spoke directly to her. It was not too late. She was not too busy. She was not unworthy. Allah had already made His Book easy.

And Aisha was living proof that when you place Qur’an first, Allah takes care of the rest. Imagine yourself feeling that same peace, that same barakah, that same closeness to Allah.
